Function
As Internal Auditor you play an important role in evaluating and improving the company’s operations. You report directly to the Board of Directors. You are the principal partner of the Executive Committee on all topics related to audit projects, follow-up and action plans.
- Define a long-term strategy and an audit plan for the organisation.
- Review the credit decision, and the operational and financial processes of the company to identify potential risks and improvements.
- Assess the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management processes.
- Evaluate the efficiency of resource use and make recommendations to improve operational performance.
- Prepare and present internal audit reports and maintain supporting work papers.
- Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations and proposals for improvement or risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure adherence to, and improvement of internal policies and procedures.
- Develop and share best practices for process and control optimisation.
- Contribute to the development of audit tools or programs.
- Coordinate work with external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with the Global Internal Audit Standards and the IIA’s Code of Ethics.
- Attend all meetings of the company’s Audit Committee in an advisory role.
- Manage the company’s grievance mechanism.
- Manage the company’s whistleblowing mechanism.
Profile
- Master's degree in economics, finance, business administration or a related field;
- 5-10 years experience as external or internal auditor or a similar role;
- Experience in an investment company or in a bank is an asset;
- Experience in public sector’s financing and budgeting is an asset;
- Fluent in French, Dutch, and in English;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to work autonomously, quick learner and results oriented;
- Honest and resilient;
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications;
- Affinity with recent and emerging topics such as ESG, compliance, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence;
- Enthusiastic about BIO’s mission and values.
